518 AM AST Mon Aug 25 2025

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Puerto Rico.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

.Lightning...Isolated thunderstorms, particularly across
western Puerto Rico. Stay alert and be prepared to take shelter
if storms develop.

.Excessive Rainfall...Flooding in urban areas, roads, small
streams, and washes, particularly across western Puerto Rico.
There is a low chance of isolated flash floods. Elsewhere, plan
for water ponding on roads and in poorly drained areas.

.Excessive Heat...This level of heat affects most individuals
sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling
and/or adequate hydration. Those extremely sensitive to heat face
the highest risk. Some health systems and heat-sensitive
industries could be affected. These conditions are most likely
across all coastal and urban areas of Puerto Rico, Vieques, and
Culebra.

.Wind...Breezy conditions (18-22 kts | 21-25 mph), particularly
across coastal exposed areas of Puerto Rico, Vieques, and Culebra.
Unsecured items could blow around.

.Marine Conditions...Hazardous conditions for small craft in
areas with seas of 7 feet or higher, particularly across
most local waters. Small craft should exercise caution elsewhere
across the local waters.

.Rip Currents...Life-threatening rip currents are likely in the
surf zone, particularly across western, northern, and eastern
Puerto Rico, Vieques, and Culebra. These life- threatening
conditions are possible across southern Puerto Rico, with
isolated stronger rip currents possible elsewhere, especially near
piers, jetties and channels. High Surf Advisory and Coastal Flood
Advisory also in effect for northern Puerto Rico and Culebra,
where beach erosion and minor coastal flooding are possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

The risk of localized flooding impacts will persist each
day, while excessive heat remains a primary concern throughout the
period. Moderate to fresh winds, combined with lingering northerly
swells, will sustain hazardous marine conditions, including a high
risk of life-threatening rip currents and potentially high surf that
could cause localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming
conditions over the next few days. A Saharan Air Layer (SAL) will
continue to advance through Tuesday, bringing hazy skies, reduced
visibility, and degraded air quality.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed.
