This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Puerto Rico.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

.Lightning...Isolated thunderstorms. Stay alert and be prepared
to take shelter if storms develop.

.Excessive Rainfall...Flooding in urban areas, roads, small
streams, and washes, particularly across eastern Puerto Rico,
including the San Juan metropolitan area. There is a low chance
of isolated flash floods. Elsewhere, plan for water ponding on
roads and in poorly drained areas.

.Excessive Heat...This level of heat affects primarily those
individuals extremely sensitive to heat, especially when outdoors
without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. These
conditions are most likely across lower elevations and coastal
areas.

.Wind...Breezy conditions (18-22 kts | 21-25 mph), particularly
across coastal areas of southwestern Puerto Rico. Unsecured items
could blow around.

.Marine Conditions...Small craft should exercise caution,
particularly across the offshore Atlantic waters and Mona
Passage.

.Rip Currents...Life-threatening rip currents are possible in the
surf zone, particularly across the northern half of Puerto Rico,
Culebra and Vieques. Isolated stronger rip currents may occur
elsewhere, especially near piers, jetties, and channels.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Lightning will continue through mid to late week due to
instability from distant Hurricane Melissa, then shift to more
localized afternoon activity. Rainfall will range from limited to
elevated, focusing on the east and southeast early in the week and
the north and northwest by the weekend. Heat remains elevated
through most of the week, while winds stay mostly light with
occasional gusts over the southwest, Vieques, and Culebra. Marine
conditions will turn choppy to hazardous as northerly swells
arrive, with a high rip current risk Tuesday–Wednesday and
moderate levels afterward.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed.
