Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
443 AM PDT Tue Sep 2 2025

.DISCUSSION...Unseasonably hot temperatures are expected in the
mid 90s for many lower elevation locations to around 100 degrees
in the Columbia Basin. Slight (15-25%) chances for thunderstorms
in the afternoon and evening today and tomorrow, mainly in central
Oregon. Cooler and wetter conditions expected by the weekend.

***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds***
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
***Ventilation Index is derived from the
transport wind multiplied by the mixing
height in 100's of feet. Index categories
are a generalized indicator and users are
encourage to develop criteria that are
   suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.***
Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height.
