The National Weather Service in Tiyan Guam has issued a
* Extreme Wind Warning for...
Northeastern Guam
* Until 1045 PM ChST.
* At 842 PM ChST, visible satellite data indicated the eye wall of
Typhoon Mawar, containing winds up to 140 mph, moving through just
north of Andersen AFB. Extreme winds, associated with the eyewall
will continue over Yigo and Andersen AFB, extending southward to
Dededo. The typhoon eyewall was moving northwest at 8 mph. THIS IS
AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION!
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Widespread destructive winds of 115 mph up to 140 mph, based on
available data, will continue across the area, producing swaths of
tornado-like damage. Highest wind speed will be farther north, over
Andersen AFB and Ritidian.
TAKE COVER NOW! Move immediately to an interior room in your
shelter. Take action now to protect your life!
The safest place to be during this situation is in a reinforced
interior room away from windows. Remain in place through the passage
of these life-threatening conditions.
