...Periods of Showers and Thunderstorms May Lead to Flooding Next
Week...

Multiple rounds of showers and storms will raise the possibility
of flash flooding next week, and river flooding by late next week 
possibly into the early part of the following week. 

The first round of storms with heavy rain will push through the 
region Sunday night. Flooding is unlikely with this initial wave.
This will be followed by another round of storms Wednesday night,
with a higher chance of flash flooding. A frontal zone is then 
expected to get hung up in the Ohio/Tennessee Valley region late 
next week, supporting additional showers and thunderstorms from 
Thursday into the weekend. Current forecasts indicate 7-day rain 
totals of 6-9 inches will be possible over the course of next 
week. 

This statement is meant to simply be a heads-up to interests in
flood-prone areas that there is a possibility of heavy rain and
flooding in the coming days. A slight shift in the storm track or
the frontal boundary next week could have large impacts on just 
how much rain actually falls, so be sure to follow the forecast as
it evolves over the next several days.
