Both tornadoes produced EF2 damage at some point over their path. This is preliminary data and may be subject to change based upon additional information in the next few days. Rating: EF2 Estimated Peak Wind: 115 mph Path Length /statute/: 8.48 miles Path Width /maximum/: 400 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/13/2024 Start Time: 07:45 PM CDT Start Location: 2 ENE Alta Vista / Wabaunsee County / KS Start Lat/Lon: 38.87 / -96.4516 End Date: 03/13/2024 End Time: 08:15 PM CDT End Location: 3 NE Volland / Wabaunsee County / KS End Lat/Lon: 38.9742 / -96.3702 Survey Summary: A strong tornado developed just east northeast of Alta Vista and tracked north northeast producing EF2 damage to hardwood trees along its path. Additional damage to outbuildings was also noted approximately 3 miles northeast of Volland. The tornado tracked mainly across rural and open areas. ..Rossville Tornado... Rating: EF2 Estimated Peak Wind: 120 mph Path Length /statute/: 4.72 miles Path Width /maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/13/2024 Start Time: 08:27 PM CDT Start Location: 1 W Rossville / Shawnee County / KS Start Lat/Lon: 39.1346 / -95.9799 End Date: 03/13/2024 End Time: 08:46 PM CDT End Location: 3 NNE Rossville / Shawnee County / KS End Lat/Lon: 39.1871 / -95.9294 Survey Summary: Another strong but smaller tornado tracked from 1 mile west of Rossville to approximately 3 miles north northeast of Rossville.
