Very short term...line of strong to severe storms with a wind threat to the northwest will be moving toward and into the northwest counties between 1115 pm and 130 am. Main threat should be gusty winds in excess of 30 mph and but hail may be possible in the stronger storms. 45 && .PREV DISCUSSION /Issued 1002 PM CDT Wed Jun 19 2019/... .DISCUSSION... Upper level trough and associated surface frontal boundary will continue to move across North and Central Texas tonight. Line of showers and storms producing heavy rainfall, gusty winds and intense lightning have been affecting these areas during the past several hours. As the trough and frontal boundary moves eastward tonight, some of these showers and storms may move across the northern portions of Southeast Texas tonight through early Thursday morning. HiRes precip models continues to show weaker activity passing over the northern counties, dissipating it moves southeastward. Updated and kept the same POP/WX trend in the forecast. Showers and storms are expected to move away from the local region by the early morning hours. Winds from the south at around 10 knots are expected overnight with winds increasing to 10 to 15 knots with higher gusts Thursday. Another HOT day is forecast for Thursday as high pressure ridge dominates the local weather. Maximum temperatures ranging in the mid to upper 90s with heat index values of 106-111 degrees F expected in the afternoon.
