.DISCUSSION...

Upper level trough and associated surface frontal boundary will
continue to move across North and Central Texas tonight. Line of
showers and storms producing heavy rainfall, gusty winds and
intense lightning have been affecting these areas during the past
several hours. As the trough and frontal boundary moves eastward
tonight, some of these showers and storms may move across the
northern portions of Southeast Texas tonight through early
Thursday morning. HiRes precip models continues to show weaker
activity passing over the northern counties, dissipating it moves
southeastward. Updated and kept the same POP/WX trend in the
forecast. Showers and storms are expected to move away from the
local region by the early morning hours.

Winds from the south at around 10 knots are expected overnight
with winds increasing to 10 to 15 knots with higher gusts
Thursday. Another HOT day is forecast for Thursday as high
pressure ridge dominates the local weather. Maximum temperatures
ranging in the mid to upper 90s with heat index values of 106-111
degrees F expected in the afternoon. A Heat Advisory has been
issued for most of Southeast Texas and will be in effect from 9 AM
to 7 PM CDT Thursday. Take extra precautions if you plan to work
or spend time outside.

The rest of the previous forecast continues on track and no
significant changes were made. 24
