.Near Term.../through Thursday/...

Low level moisture and light winds will once again create the
potential for fog this morning.

High pressure ridge will extend across the region from a center to
the northeast this period. This will continue the onshore flow
pattern from the Atlantic, with the sea breeze moving well inland
through the afternoon. The combination of diurnal instability and
the sea breeze will bring the chance for showers and storms each
afternoon. The chance will focus over eastern counties early in the
afternoons, then further inland later in the day.

Temperatures will trend a little below normal Today, then near
normal for Tonight and Thursday.

.Short Term.../Thursday night through Saturday/...

Surface high pressure will be northeast of the region this period,
as the center slowly moves a little further to the northeast. The
overall pattern of onshore flow from the Atlantic will continue this
period, with the east coast sea breeze pushing inland each
afternoon. Again, the best chance for convective activity will be
earlier in the day at the coast, then later in the day inland. As
Tropical Storm Fred is expected to start pushing added moisture
north into area during the day Saturday, this will increase
convective chances.

Temperatures will be near normal through Friday night, then a little
below on Saturday.

.Long Term.../Saturday night through Tuesday/...

The forecast this period, will be driven in large part by the
strength and track of Tropical Storm Fred. On its current NHC
forecasted track the main impact for local forecast area will be
added rainfall potential. Showers and storms will be common
throughout this period, with the potential for heavy rainfall.
With the ground saturated in many areas, and some rivers already
in flood, additional flooding anticipated.

Temperatures will trend near normal during the nights, but a little
below during the day times.

.Marine...

Surface high pressure will be northeast of the region through
Saturday. Marine interests should continue to monitor the NHC
forecast track of Tropical Storm Fred for later this weekend into
early next week, as it may produce impacts to local area coastal
waters.
