.DISCUSSION...

An upper trough extended from WA to CA this morning with a ridge
over Mexico and the Western Gulf. This trough will slowly move east
with the base of the trough reaching Srn CA by Friday morning as the
ridge slides east. The trough will quickly pass over AZ and NM
Friday and cross the Panhandle early Saturday. The trough will
deepen into a closed low as it lifts NE Saturday with brief ridging
building behind it. As it does another trough will work down the
West Coast Sunday and quickly swing across NM to TX Monday.

Spring time is definitely here as region having a windy week. Could
see marginal high wind again Thursday in the Guadalupes but Friday
looking very windy in the mountains and windy for the surrounding
plains. Have gone ahead and issued a High Wind Watch for Friday in
the Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains as expect very windy conditions
ahead of the approaching upper trough. Could end up seeing the
Davis Mountains added at a later time but will leave them out for
now. May see another high wind event with the next trough Monday.

Having a sunny day across the region with a few high clouds with
ample insolation pushing temperatures well into the 80s with some
90s expected. Thursday should be a bit warmer with a west downslope
wind and a surface trough setting up across the area. Highs
Thursday should climb into the low to mid 90s across much of the
area in what should be the warmest day so far this year. A Pacific
front will move across the area Friday with cooler readings Friday
into next week.

Models continue to throw some low pops in for the east Monday and
Monday night so could see a few showers or storms. Otherwise the
rest of the forecast is dry.

no precipitation expected through Sunday. Relative humidity values

strength on Saturday.
