Weather Summary for the U.S. Virgin Islands
National Weather Service San Juan PR
348 AM AST Tue Jan 1 2019

Fair weather under partly cloudy skies prevailed for most of the
overnight period across the U.S. Virgin Islands. A few showers
were detected across the surrounding waters with little to no rain
over land areas. Overnight low temperatures were in the mid to
upper 70s. Winds were generally from the northeast between 10 and
15 mph with some occasionally higher gusts.

A drier than normal airmass will promote mainly dry weather
conditions across most of the region for today. Breezy conditions
are expected to continue with winds between 15 and 20 mph with
higher gusts. High temperatures are expected to be in the mid to
upper 80s.

Across the regional waters, rough seas up to 7 feet will continue
and a small craft advisory continues in effect for most of the
local waters. Winds will remain at 15 to 20 knots with
occasionally higher gusts. There is a high risk of rip currents
across the north and east facing beaches of Saint Croix with a low
to moderate risk elsewhere.
