Weather Summary for the U.S. Virgin Islands
National Weather Service San Juan PR
452 PM AST Sat Sep 1 2018

Mostly sunny skies prevailed across the U.S. Virgin Islands today.
Light showers from streamers developed around noon off the islands
but no significant rainfall amounts were noted over land areas.
Winds were from the northeast around 15 mph with higher gusts.
Maximum temperatures range from the high 80s to 90 degrees across
the islands.

Under a northeast wind flow, brief passing showers are expected to
move at times across the islands through the rest of the weekend.
Afternoon showers from streamers are expected to develop once
again on Sunday afternoon and move mainly over the coastal waters
of the islands. A tropical wave is forecast to move over the
region on Monday.

Across the regional waters, seas are expected to remain at 5 feet
or less during the next few days. However, small crafts should
exercise caution across the Caribbean waters due to winds up to 20
knots. A moderate risk of rip currents is expected to continue
for some of the east facing beaches of Saint Croix. A low risk
will prevail for the northern islands.
