Light showers from streamers developed around noon off the islands but no significant rainfall amounts were noted over land areas. Winds were from the northeast around 15 mph with higher gusts. Maximum temperatures range from the high 80s to 90 degrees across the islands. Under a northeast wind flow, brief passing showers are expected to move at times across the islands through the rest of the weekend. Afternoon showers from streamers are expected to develop once again on Sunday afternoon and move mainly over the coastal waters of the islands. A tropical wave is forecast to move over the region on Monday. Across the regional waters, seas are expected to remain at 5 feet or less during the next few days. However, small crafts should exercise caution across the Caribbean waters due to winds up to 20 knots. A moderate risk of rip currents is expected to continue for some of the east facing beaches of Saint Croix.
