Weather Summary for Puerto Rico
National Weather Service San Juan PR
501 AM AST Sat Sep 1 2018

Sunny to partly cloudy skies were observed across the islands
today. Locally numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms
developed over northwestern Puerto Rico and across the western
waters during the afternoon hours. Winds were mainly calm to light
and variable and low temperatures were in the low 80s and in the
low 70s along the mountain areas.

In general, fair weather conditions will continue through the
weekend, however quick passing showers will move at times mainly
across the windward sections. Winds turn more east to northeast
and diurnally induced afternoon showers are expected to affect
mainly the west southwest areas of Puerto Rico each day. The next
tropical wave is forecast to reach the islands around Monday.

Across the regional waters, small craft operators should exercise
caution across the coastal waters of north and south Puerto Rico
due to winds between 15 and 20 knots. Seas are forecast at 5 feet
or less and winds around 15 knots. A moderate risk of rip
currents is expected through the weekend for the beaches of
northern and southern Puerto Rico as well across the southern
beaches of Vieques.
