The featured chart presents the frequencies of day to day changes in low temperature. While the average high and low temperature are decreasing each day as we head into fall, the day to day changes are not always negative this time of year. This illustrates an important distinction between weather and climate. While climate is "pulling" us cooler each day, the weather is actually guiding the day to day differences. The chart does show an annual signal, but the magnitude is only a few percentage points.
