Survey Summary:

The National Weather Service surveyed damage near the Island City
community of Owsley County. The same storm system that led to the
tornado in eastern Rockcastle County produced another tornado just
across the Jackson County line into Owsley County around 8:15 am
EST. This tornado dropped down on the west side of Hwy-1350, 
leading to multiple trees being snapped and uprooted. The trees 
were lying in different directions, including one that landed on a
derelict house in the middle of a clearing just off of the road. 
From here the tornado crossed the road and proceeded eastward into
a holler (Clem's Cemetary Road), where it continued to cause 
considerable tree damage. Two mobile homes towards the head of the
holler also sustined damage, specifically to the west facing 
side, as well as to the underpinning. From the holler, the tornado
path went over the ridge to the east, crossed Rone Fork Branch
Road, then continued towards Anglin Branch Road. A shed-built 
home along Anglin Brook Road sustained major damage as the walls 
collapsed. Debris from this struture was strewn in multiple 
directions, but namely to the north and northeast. Again, there 
was also widespread tree damage along this area as well, spanning
about a 100-yard path along the road. The tornado's path came to 
an end shortly after this point, where it likely lifed.
