Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 95 mph Path Length /statute/: 12.39 miles Path Width /maximum/: 100 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 07/15/2024 Start Time: 08:36 PM CDT Start Location: 3 ESE East Peoria / Tazewell County / IL Start Lat/Lon: 40.6451 / -89.5198 End Date: 07/15/2024 End Time: 08:54 PM CDT End Location: 3 NE Mackinaw / Tazewell County / IL End Lat/Lon: 40.5638 / -89.3172 Survey Summary: The tornado began in East Peoria near Bloomington Rd and Pleasant Hill Rd. It continued along Interstate 74 toward the north side of Morton where it damaged an industrial complex. The storm then continued toward the east side of Morton near the high school, snapping several hardwood trees along the way. Tornado damage was then documented in rural Tazwell county, mainly north of Mackinaw near Dee Mack Rd and toward the American Legion post where siding was ripped off the east side of the building.
