Added new findings of tornado damage near Stephens in Ouachita County, courtesy of supplemental data provided by the Camden Fire Department. Also, updated track information on the Double Wells Tornado in southwestern Jefferson County, based on additional reports of damage from county officials. .Pine Grove Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.23 miles Path Width /maximum/: 75 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 07/08/2024 Start Time: 06:46 PM CDT Start Location: 6 SE Sparkman / Dallas County / AR Start Lat/Lon: 33.867 / -92.766 End Date: 07/08/2024 End Time: 06:55 PM CDT End Location: 3 ESE Sparkman / Dallas County / AR End Lat/Lon: 33.905 / -92.797 Survey Summary: This tornado occurred in tandem with the Sparkman-New Hope Tornado, under the same parent supercell, and formed near Dallas County Road 27 and AR Highway 128, just south of Pine Grove. The tornado severely damaged the awning of a carport which was attached to a manufactured home near its starting point, and caused primarily tree damage in the immediate vicinity. The tornado kept moving northwestward, paralleling AR Highway 128, and crossed Dallas County Road 254, then Highway 128, and continued to parallel the state highway, causing mainly tree damage in its path. The tornado then dissipated just north of New Hope, near the intersection of Dallas County Roads 224 and 231. This tornado had maximum estimated wind speeds of 90 mph, consistent with an EF-1 rating. .Sparkman-New Hope Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 88 mph Path Length /statute/: 2.41 miles Path Width /maximum/: 75 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 07/08/2024 Start Time: 06:51 PM CDT Start Location: 4 SE Sparkman / Dallas County / AR Start Lat/Lon: 33.866 / -92.798 End Date: 07/08/2024 End Time: 06:56 PM CDT End Location: 3 ESE Sparkman / Dallas County / AR End Lat/Lon: 33.899 / -92.803 Survey Summary: This tornado occurred in tandem with the Pine Grove Tornado, under the same parent supercell, and began near Dallas County Road 267 and AR Highway 207, just a few miles south of New Hope. The tornado moved primarily northward, following Dallas County Road 267, causing only tree damage in its path. The tornado then dissipated just west of New Hope, near AR Highway 128. This tornado had maximum estimated wind speeds of 88 mph, consistent with an EF-1 rating. .Stephens Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 2.33 miles Path Width /maximum/: 50 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 07/08/2024 Start Time: 08:00 PM CDT Start Location: 5 NNW Stephens / Ouachita County / AR Start Lat/Lon: 33.491 / -93.083 End Date: 07/08/2024 End Time: 08:03 PM CDT End Location: 7 NNW Stephens / Nevada County / AR End Lat/Lon: 33.512 / -93.113 Survey Summary: This survey was conducted from geotagged drone imagery from Camden Fire Dept. Using the series of geotagged photos, we were able to confirm an EF-1 tornado that moved from southeast to northwest near the community of Stephens in southwest Ouachita County. Along its path, the tornado primarily caused a long swath of trees to be uprooted. There were a couple of outbuildings damaged along this path, with the worst of the structural damage identified as metal roofing peeled off of a large barn. This tornado continued into Nevada county for approximately a half mile. A special thanks for Camden Fire Department for providing the areal survey of this damage path! .Double Wells Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 88 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.19 miles Path Width /maximum/: 75 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 07/08/2024 Start Time: 10:28 PM CDT Start Location: 10 N Rison / Jefferson County / AR Start Lat/Lon: 34.112 / -92.182 End Date: 07/08/2024 End Time: 10:35 PM CDT End Location: 10 SSW White Hall / Jefferson County / AR End Lat/Lon: 34.155 / -92.198 Survey Summary: This tornado was associated with a rain band of Hurricane Beryl, forming to the west-northwest of Talladega in Jefferson County, near Huntley Trail and West Lane. The tornado moved northward primarily over private and rural land, as inferred by radar data. The tornado then crossed Samuel Road, where a few chicken houses had some metal panels ripped off, and primarily tree damage was observed elsewhere near the area. The tornado then began to move northwestward, and caused tree damage in the Double Wells community, damaging a carport, knocking over power lines as a result of falling trees. The tornado then dissipated just after crossing the intersection of Jed Road and Sulphur Springs Road. This tornado had maximum estimated wind speeds of 88 mph, consistent with an EF-1 rating. .Pine Bluff Arsenal Tornado... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 75 mph Path Length /statute/: 5.79 miles Path Width /maximum/: 0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 07/08/2024 Start Time: 10:49 PM CDT Start Location: 4 E White Hall / Jefferson County / AR Start Lat/Lon: 34.2732 / -92.0288 End Date: 07/08/2024 End Time: 10:59 PM CDT End Location: 5 WSW Sherrill / Jefferson County / AR End Lat/Lon: 34.3565 / -92.0418 Survey Summary: This tornado was associated with a rain band of Hurricane Beryl, forming just to the north of Pine Bluff, near the southeastern perimeter of Pine Bluff Arsenal. The tornado then crossed the Arkansas River, moving through a rural region of Jefferson County, paralleling Earl Chadick Road, and then dissipated near Pastoria, causing only minor tree damage. This tornado had maximum estimated wind speeds of 75 mph, consistent with an EF- 0 rating. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the events and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$ 72
