Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 110 mph Path Length /statute/: 8.6 miles Path Width /maximum/: 960 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 6/16/2023 Start Time: 4:39 AM CDT Start Location: 5 S Delta / Warren County / LA Start Lat/Lon: 32.2456 / -90.9258 End Date: 6/16/2023 End Time: 4:49 AM CDT End Location: 9 SE Vicksburg / Warren County / MS End Lat/Lon: 32.2199 / -90.7831 Survey Summary: An EF-1 tornado was found in southern Warren County, near the Warrenton Community. The tornado began near the airport along Warrenton Lane, where some large branches were snapped. The storm quickly intensified as it moved southeast, snapping and uprooting trees. The storm was most intense near Burnt House Road, where there was widespread tree damage and a large tree fell on a house. Numerous hardwood trees had snapped trunks and were uprooted. The tornado continued to snap and uproot trees along Funches Road near Drayton Road. There was also significant tree damage along Fisher Ferry Road and Fonsylvania Road. The tornado continued to track southeast snapping and uprooting trees along an unnamed Warren County Road just south of Halls Ferry before dissipating in a wooded area. Wind gusts were estimated at 110 mph at the strongest. The Tornado path was about 8.5 miles long and a little over a half mile or 963 yards at the widest. .Central Warren/Western Hinds/Northeast Claiborne Straight-Line Winds... Rating: TSTM/Wind Estimated Peak Wind: 70-90 mph Swath Length /statute/: 22.5 miles Swath Width /maximum/: 15 miles Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 6/16/2023 Start Time: 4:45 AM CDT Start Location: 5 SE Vicksburg / Warren County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 32.274 / -90.817 End Date: 6/16/2023 End Time: 5:05 AM CDT End Location: 2 SSW Raymond / Hinds County / MS End Lat/Lon: 32.2398 / -90.4373 Survey Summary: A 10 to 15 mile wide swath of 70 to 80 mph straight line wind gusts, with embedded gusts up to 90 mph produced widespread damage to trees across portions of central Warren, western Hinds between Edwards and Utica, and northeastern Claiborne County. In the stronger channels of wind, clusters of numerous trees were uprooted and snapped, and prolific snapping of smaller trees and large tree branches occurred. Several homes were damaged by falling trees, and some structures sustained roof damage directly from the wind. .Utica - Bear Creek Tornado... Along its path, numerous trees were snapped and uprooted and several utility poles and lines were downed. Tree damage exhibited a convergent pattern at multiple locations along the track.
