Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 94 mph Path Length /statute/: 2.76 miles Path Width /maximum/: 130.0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/25/2023 Start Time: 12:00 AM CDT Start Location: 5 NE Pebble / Lawrence County / AL Start Lat/Lon: 34.34 / -87.473 End Date: 03/25/2023 End Time: 12:06 AM CDT End Location: 4 NNW Sipsey River Rec Area / Lawrence County / AL End Lat/Lon: 34.3445 / -87.4253 Survey Summary: After reviewing high resolution satellite data through the USGS, the NWS has determined an EF-1 tornado touched down in the Bankhead National Forest. Damage indicators were mostly noted as hard wood tree uproots. Satellite imagery showed large swath of trees uprooted as evidenced by Worldview (~35 cm) imagery. Tree fall pattern indicates convergence and falls partly perpendicular to storm track.
