Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 95 mph Path Length /statute/: 4.6 miles Path Width /maximum/: 430 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/03/2023 Start Time: 04:37 AM CDT Start Location: 3 SSW Mendenhall / Simpson County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.9179 / -89.8916 End Date: 04/03/2023 End Time: 04:46 AM CDT End Location: 4 SE Mendenhall / Simpson County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.9348 / -89.8170 Survey Summary: A tornado touched down 3 miles south southwest of Mendenhall, just west of Highway 13 near its intersection with Merit Welch Road. Multiple trees were snapped and uprooted as the tornado crossed Highway 13. The tornado continued to move northeastward through mainly rural locations of Simpson County continuing to uproot trees and snapping branches. The tornado dissipated just under a mile east of where it crossed Highway 49 near John L. May Road. .Jones County Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 95 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.5 miles Path Width /maximum/: 220 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/03/2023 Start Time: 05:45 AM CDT Start Location: 2 ESE Moss / Jones County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.8064 / -89.1459 End Date: 04/03/2023 End Time: 05:51 AM CDT End Location: 3 WNW Sandersville / Jones County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.7963 / -89.0879 Survey Summary: A tornado touched down 2 miles southeast of Moss and traveled southeast snapping branches and uprooting trees from near the intersection of Sharon Moss Road and Pacocean Acrs, crossing Bullock Road, to where it crossed near the intersection of Lake Como Road and Ward Road. The tornado continued east southeast and crossed Sharon Road near Tony Watkins Road where several large branches were snapped.
