A broken line of severe thunderstorms moved across North and Central Texas during the early morning hours of March 24, 2023, producing wind and tornado damage in Parker County. A National Weather Service Fort Worth storm survey team assessed damage along two tracks and confirmed two EF-1 tornadoes occurred with peak winds of 100 mph. One tornado developed near Whitt and one tracked through portions of Poolville. .Parker County Tornado # 1 - Whitt... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 mph Path Length /statute/: 6.7252 miles Path Width /maximum/: 75.0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 2 Start Date: 03/24/2023 Start Time: 04:52 AM CDT Start Location: 9 NNE Mineral Wells / Parker County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 32.9467 / -98.0363 End Date: 03/24/2023 End Time: 04:58 AM CDT End Location: 13 SSW Runaway Bay / Parker County / TX End Lat/Lon: 32.9905 / -97.934 Survey Summary: The tornado developed on the southwest side of Whitt near Bounty Rd where an untethered large RV trailer was rolled upside down. There were 2 injuries reported with the damage in this area. Tree damage spans from Whitt Cut Off Road to Middleton Road and includes snapped trunks and large broken branches. As the tornado moved northeast towards the Wise County line, it caused damage to the roof of a metal building near Leech Road and rolled another untethered large RV trailer on its side along Lone Star Rd. The tornado appears to have lifted before reaching Advance Rd. .Parker County Tornado # 2 - Poolville... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 mph Path Length /statute/: 5.4728 miles Path Width /maximum/: 100.0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 3 Start Date: 03/24/2023 Start Time: 04:56 AM CDT Start Location: 12 NNE Cool / Parker County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 32.9597 / -97.91 End Date: 03/24/2023 End Time: 05:00 AM CDT End Location: 9 WNW Springtown / Wise County / TX End Lat/Lon: 33.0034 / -97.839 Survey Summary: The tornado developed along Pine Road west of Poolville, where the roof of a single family home sustained damaged. As the tornado tracked northeast, it produced extensive damage to trees across the northwestern side of Poolville including snapped trunks and uprooted trees. Structural damage includes the uplift and overturning of a metal garage structure near the intersection of Pine Road and Lone Star Road, roof and siding damage to a few single family residences, and the complete collapse of a large covered pavilion roof near the Poolville Cemetery. The tornado continued to move north-northeast towards the Wise County line producing additional damage to trees and several outdoor buildings along Clover Drive. Multiple manufactured homes along and just south of Highway 199 were damaged as the tornado crossed the county line. There were 3 injuries reported with damage in this area.
