Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 110 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.34 miles Path Width /maximum/: 50 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 02/27/2023 Start Time: 01:28 PM EST Start Location: 3 SSE McCordsville / Hancock County / IN Start Lat/Lon: 39.8656 / -85.9115 End Date: 02/27/2023 End Time: 01:33 PM EST End Location: 3 S Fortville / Hancock County / IN End Lat/Lon: 39.8877 / -85.8557 Survey Summary: This first tornado touched down approximately 3 miles south southeast of McCordsville, damaging the roof of a warehouse. The tornado remained on the ground approximately 3.34 miles striking a farm and destroying a farm outbuilding, damaging a large and functioning historic barn (sliding it slightly off its foundation) and snapping numerous trees. This tornado was on the ground for approximately 5 minutes. .Tornado 2... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.30 miles Path Width /maximum/: 50 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 02/27/2023 Start Time: 01:35 PM EST Start Location: 2 ESE Ingalls / Hancock County / IN Start Lat/Lon: 39.9423 / -85.7692 End Date: 02/27/2023 End Time: 01:37 PM EST End Location: 2 ESE Ingalls / Hancock County / IN End Lat/Lon: 39.9441 / -85.7642 Survey Summary: The second tornado touched down approximately 2 miles east southeast of Ingalls. This tornado was briefly on the ground traveling approximately 0.3 miles. While on the ground it damaged a barn, removing the barns roof and exterior wall. Downwind of the barn, 2x4 beams were driven into the ground at different angles. Several trees were damaged, either being snapped or blown over and uprooted.
