...NWS Damage Survey for 02/26/23 Tornado Event...

.Overview...A powerful upper level storm moved east out of the 
southern Rockies into the the northern Texas Panhandle. 
Instability, lift, and strong shear helped to develop severe 
thunderstorms across the eastern Panhandles. 2 tornadoes were 
confirmed in Wheeler County.

Survey Summary:
Video evidence indicated a very brief tornado about 2.6 miles
northwest of Lela. No damage was observed. The size, strength,
and duration of the tornado were estimated based on a combination
of video and radar data.

Survey Summary:
Storm chaser video helped identify starting point. There was
eventually damage to an outbuilding which was the strongest
degree of damage where 110 mph winds were estimated.
