The tornado crossed Givens Rd and moved northeast along Tilton Road. Most of the damage was uprooted and damaged trees. A couple sheds were damaged or destroyed. One home had minor roof damage. .EBENEZER CHURCH ROAD TORNADO... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.4 miles Path Width /maximum/: 70 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 11/29/2022 Start Time: 5:02 PM CST Start Location: 7 SW Bassfield/Jefferson Davis County/MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.4257 / -89.8311 End Date: 11/29/2022 End Time: 5:10 PM CST End Location: 4 SSW Bassfield/Jefferson Davis County/MS End Lat/Lon: 31.445 / -89.7791 Survey Summary: Based on satellite imagery, this tornado began producing tree damage along Pierce Creek between JL Robbins Rd and Smith Hill Rd in southwest Jefferson Davis County. The tornado continued northeastward, briefly crossing into far northern Marion County and crossing Bunker Hill Rd, before crossing back into south Jefferson Davis County. A few trees were uprooted and damaged just off Ebenezer Church Road, then additional trees were downed between Ebenezer Church Rd and Mill Rd, where satellite showed the last signs of tree damage along this path. There are signs this tornado may have lifted briefly a few times along its path. .NORTH CHOCTAW COUNTY TORNADO... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 6.8 miles Path Width /maximum/: 330 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 11/29/2022 Start Time: 5:11 PM CST Start Location: 6 SSE Eupora / Choctaw County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 33.4605 / -89.2425 End Date: 11/29/2022 End Time: 5:21 PM CST End Location: 3 S Mathiston / Choctaw County / MS End Lat/Lon: 33.49 / -89.1303 Survey Summary: This tornado touched down near the intersection of Mississippi Highway 9 and Maddox Road where a few trees were snapped or damaged. The tornado moved northeast and crossed the Natchez Trace Parkway where a few trees were blown down into the roadway. Along Hester Road, the tornado blew off the roof of a barn and snapped several nearby trees. An RV in the area was also rolled on its side. The tornado continued to snap or uproot trees along its path as it crossed Franklin Road and Breland Road, and it dissipated shortly after it crossed Mississippi Highway 15 near Sherwood Road. .BASSFIELD TORNADO... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 110 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.9 miles Path Width /maximum/: 400 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 11/29/2022 Start Time: 5:14 PM CST Start Location: 3 SSW Bassfield/Jefferson Davis County/MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.4597 / -89.7572 End Date: 11/29/2022 End Time: 5:21 PM CST End Location: 3 ESE Bassfield/Jefferson Davis County/MS End Lat/Lon: 31.4846 / -89.6986 Survey Summary: This tornado touched down near the intersection of Bassfield Cemetery road and McLeod Dr and tracked ENE for almost 4 miles before dissipating just beyond Hosey Mikell road. At the start, some tin was take off a large shed. As it crossed Bass and S Williamsburg roads, several trees were damaged along with an awning blow down. A brick home had minor roof damage as well. The tornado peaked in intensity as it crossed Highway 42. Here a large metal shed lost 80% of the roof and numerous trees were snapped and uprooted. A more focused core was noted here in the tree damage. The tornado dissipated shortly after. .STEENS TORNADO... Rating: EF2 Estimated Peak Wind: 132 mph Path Length /statute/: 8.40 miles Path Width /maximum/: 375 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 11/29/2022 Start Time: 6:26 PM CST Start Location: 4 SSE Columbus AFB / Lowndes County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 33.5834 / -88.4232 End Date: 11/29/2022 End Time: 6:40 PM CST End Location: 5 SSE Caledonia / Lowndes County / MS End Lat/Lon: 33.6137 / -88.2838 Survey Summary: At around 6:26pm a severe storm produced a tornado just northwest of Steens along Jess Lyons Road near the Green Oaks Golf Course. The tornado initially touched down near the roadway where several softwood trees were uprooted. The tornado continued east and northeast across mostly wooded areas producing intermittent tree and vegetation damage. A church steeple south of Wells was knocked over near the intersection of Nielson and Wolfe Road. As the tornado approached Cal-Steens Road, it gained strength quickly. Several homes had broken windows, trees were snapped and roof damage. As this tornado continued its track, crossing HWY12, the tornado gained its peak strength of 132 mph. A house along HWY12 had many of its exterior walls collapsed, which was the worst of the damage observed from the storm. Trees were snapped and uprooted along HWY12, as the tornado weakened some but maintained winds of 120 mph. As the tornado crossed HWY 12, it continued to knock down trees in its path approaching Jerry Reynolds road. The tornado continued east and crossed Vaughn Roberts road where softwood trees were downed. The tornado continued to weaken as it moved east and dissipated near the Alabama- Mississippi border. .SOUTH JASPER COUNTY TORNADO... Rating: EF2 Estimated Peak Wind: 120 mph Path Length /statute/: 11.8 miles Path Width /maximum/: 300 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 11/29/2022 Start Time: 6:30 PM CST Start Location: 7 NNE Soso / Jasper County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.8464 / -89.2062 End Date: 11/29/2022 End Time: 6:51 PM CST End Location: 6 NW Heidelberg / Jasper County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.9586 / -89.0584 Survey Summary: This tornado touched down SE of Stringer near county roads 195, 19 and 193. Damage to trees was mostly noted here along with two homes having minor roof damage. Along 193, an older wooden home had a good portion of the roof taken off along with broken windows and wall damage. The tornado then traveled across a wooded area before crossing county road 21. Here minor shingle damage was done to a home along with multiple uprooted pine trees. The tornado then traveled across a large wooded bottom area, but continued to indicate a TDS. Tree damage was noted as it crossed county road 23. The tornado then traveled across another wooded area were a TDS was indicated. As the tornado emerged it narrowed and crossed county road 52816 and Highway 528. It became most intense here as a focused path did heavy damage to multiple trees and threw shed debris a sizable distance. A well built brick home had the entire roof removed with sections thrown and deposited some distance. A few other homes in this vicinity were damaged but were just outside of the strong core. Peak intensity was noted here and rated EF2 with max winds around 120 mph. The tornado dissipated shortly after near county roads 14 and 31. .HIGHPOINT TORNADO... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 5.2 miles Path Width /maximum/: 300 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 11/29/2022 Start Time: 6:49 PM CST Start Location: 4 SW Highpoint / Winston County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 33.1516 / -89.1956 End Date: 11/29/2022 End Time: 6:55 PM CST End Location: 1 NNE Highpoint / Choctaw County / MS End Lat/Lon: 33.2066 / -89.1403 Survey Summary: This tornado began along Bethany Ebenezer Road and tracked to the north and east across northwestern Winston County. The tornado mainly produced damage to softwood and hardwood trees. The tornado crossed into Choctaw County and lifted before reaching Highway 15. .TENSAS RIVER TORNADO... Rating: EF-U Estimated Peak Wind: NA Path Length /statute/: 1.1 miles Path Width /maximum/: Unknown Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 11/29/2022 Start Time: 7:06 PM CST Start Location: 12 SW Richmond / Madison Parish / LA Start Lat/Lon: 32.2898 / -91.3668 End Date: 11/29/2022 End Time: 7:07 PM CST End Location: 11 SW Richmond / Madison Parish / LA End Lat/Lon: 32.2954 / -91.3489 Survey Summary: A storm chaser observed a tornado near the Tensas River and in the vicinity of the Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge. A damage survey was unable to find conclusive evidence of damage along accessible roadways, so this tornado will be assigned a rating of EF-Unknown. .THOMASTOWN TORNADO... No damage was found during an NWS storm survey. .CRAWFORD TORNADO... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 88 mph Path Length /statute/: 2.5 miles Path Width /maximum/: 250 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 11/29/2022 Start Time: 7:36 PM CST Start Location: 2 NNW Crawford / Lowndes County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 33.3312 / -88.6363 End Date: 11/29/2022 End Time: 7:41 PM CST End Location: 4 SSE Artesia / Lowndes County / MS End Lat/Lon: 33.3625 / -88.6155 Survey Summary: This tornado began at Sam Hill Rd and tracked northeast towards Highway 45. Several softwood trees were damaged. After it crossed Highway 45, the tornado continued to move northeast towards Swedenburg Rd. After it reached Swedenburg Rd and uprooted additional trees and downing large branches, the tornado dissipated. .MARION COUNTY TORNADO... Rating: EF2 Estimated Peak Wind: 125 mph Path Length /statute/: 6 miles Path Width /maximum/: 150 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 11/30/2022 Start Time: 1:50 AM CST Start Location: 7 SSW Columbia / Marion County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.1649 / -89.8896 End Date: 11/30/2022 End Time: 1:59 AM CST End Location: 7 SSE Columbia / Marion County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.1585 / -89.7895 Survey Summary: This tornado touched down just north of Ten Mile Creek Road in southern Marion county where it initially produced minor tree damage. An outbuilding was blown over in this area. The tornado began to intensify quickly and produced damage to a residence as it moved eastward with roof damage, damage to trees and vegetation, the downing of power poles as well as a flag pole. The tornado tracked eastward where it continued to intensify, reaching its maximum intensity of EF-2 with approximately 125 mph winds. Here, a cellular tower along Dunaway Loop was destroyed. As the tornado crossed MS Highway 35, damage to outbuildings and snapped/uprooted trees were common in a narrow path.
