Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.8 miles Path Width /maximum/: 25.0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 06/16/2022 Start Time: 06:27 PM EDT Start Location: 3 ENE Oats / Darlington County / SC Start Lat/Lon: 34.2538 / -80.0273 End Date: 06/16/2022 End Time: 06:34 PM EDT End Location: 6 NNW Timmonsville / Darlington County / SC End Lat/Lon: 34.2199 / -79.9752 Survey Summary: The tornado formed in a wooded area west of Lawson Grove Rd, then caused downed and snapped trees as it crossed Lawson Grove Rd. The tornado continued to the SE and flipped a large agricultural irrigation system in a corn field along Joja Rd. Next the tornado crossed Philadelphia St. and caused damage to trees before causing minor flashing and roof shingle damage at the Philadelphia Methodist Church. It also destroyed an outdoor storage building and knocked down a few granite headstones in the adjacent graveyard. The tornado continued toward the southeast into fields and forest south of Philadelphia St. Finally, the tornado weakened as it moved across S Center Rd where it ripped a metal roof off a single wide mobile home and caused minor roof damage to a home on the east side of S Center Rd as it lifted. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0...Weak......65 to 85 mph EF1...Weak......86 to 110 mph EF2...Strong....111 to 135 mph EF3...Strong....136 to 165 mph EF4...Violent...166 to 200 mph EF5...Violent...>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$
