...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 08/31/2021 TORNADO EVENT...

...THREE EF-0 TORNADO TRACKS IDENTIFIED IN SOUTHEAST ALABAMA...

.Overview...A series of tornadic cells impacted Southeast Alabama
and extreme Southwest Georgia on Tuesday evening between 400 pm CT
and 900 pm CT. Sufficient wind shear related to the circulation
of Ida and late afternoon heating provided an environment
marginally conducive for tornadoes. In all, three tornadoes have
been confirmed. An NWS damage survey team viewed the damage today
and has rated the strength of all three tornadoes with an EF-0
rating.

The National Weather Service thanks Dale and Houston County
Emergency Management for their help. Tracks may be further refined
pending review of aerial images.
