...Summary...
A tornado briefly touched down early Sunday morning about 2 miles north
of the town of Belvoir in western Pitt County. The tornado first moved
through a field on the south side of Floyd Harris Road, knocking down
several trees. It then continued across Floyd Harris Road, knocking down
a few more trees, and then as it moved through the backyard of a
residence on Porter Road, severely damaged a large metal outbuilding. It
then continued northeast and struck a small house causing significant
damage to the roof and exterior walls. Due to the age of the structure,
a lower wind threshold of around 100 mph was determined to cause this
extensive damage. The most concentrated area of damage was found here
between the two residences where a few other outbuildings were damaged,
several softwood trees were snapped, and a few hardwood trees were
uprooted. The tornado then continued across Porter Road, downing a few
more trees along the road, and then continued into a cleared timber
field where it likely lifted.

Additionally, two scans from the KRAX radar located near Clayton, showed
a small tornadic debris signature or TDS, which further confirms that a
tornado touched down in this area.

EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the
following categories:

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 mph
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 mph
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 mph
