Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 70 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.3 miles Path Width /maximum/: 20 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 07/26/2020 Start Time: 05:10 AM CDT Start Location: 2 N Sutherland Springs / Wilson County /TX Start Lat/Lon: 29.2917 / -98.0723 End Date: 07/26/2020 End Time: 05:17 AM CDT End Location: 2 S La Vernia / Wilson County / TX End Lat/Lon: 29.3193 / -98.1164 Survey Summary: A NWS damage survey has concluded that a small EF0 tornado touched down just south of La Vernia during the predawn hours of Sunday July 26 at approximately 510 AM. The survey found the tornado touched down along Highway 87 north of Sutherland Springs. The tornado then moved northwest and crossed CR 307, Enck Lane, Oakview Drive, Oak Hollow Drive, Hickory Run, and Ranch Country Road. The tornado continued northwest and crossed Blackjack Road, Cibolo Ridge and Pullman Road. The tornado track ends at Pullman Road as road access farther northwest near CR 344 was not available. The majority of damage was to trees and outbuildings. Power poles and lines were also damaged in a few locations. Some minor tree damage was found west of La Vernia near CR 356, CR 357 and along Highway 87 but could not make the conclusion that it was caused a tornado. The maximum winds associated with this tornado are estimated to be 70 mph making it an EF0 tornado.
