885 NOUS43 KUNR 122146 PNSUNR SDZ044-131800- Public Information Statement National Weather Service Rapid City SD 346 PM MDT Sun Jul 12 2020 ...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 07/10/20 BENNETT COUNTY SOUTH DAKOTA TORNADO... The Bennett County tornado formed north of Batesland and southwest of Allen in far western Bennett County. The tornado continued southeastward and crossed US Highway 18 before dissipating southwest of Martin in southern Bennett County. A few structures were impacted by the tornado along with numerous pine and cottonwood trees. Much of this damage was consistent with EF1 damage. Straight-line wind damage southwest of the tornado track caused minor tree and structure damage near the Little White River, consistent with maximum wind gusts 75-100 mph.
