The tornado did minimal damage to trees, fences and sheds in a subdivision in the area. The tornado was on the ground for less than 1 minute and traveled less than 1/4 mile. ..Amarillo Tornado... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 65 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.14 miles Path Width /maximum/: 45.0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 07/11/2020 Start Time: 07:59 PM CDT Start Location: 5 WSW Amarillo / Randall County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 35.1591 / -101.893 End Date: 07/11/2020 End Time: 07:59 PM CDT End Location: 5 WSW Amarillo / Randall County / TX End Lat/Lon: 35.1579 / -101.891 Survey Summary: Based on damage and photos, an NWS survey crew determined a weak landspout tornado touched down briefly across the southwest side of Amarillo. Damage consisted mainly of broken large tree limbs and to fences in a subdivision in the area. There was also a small metal shed destroyed by the EF0 tornado.
