...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 06/08/20 TORNADO EVENTS...
...Northeast North Dakota Tornadoes...

A series of thunderstorms developed in northeast North Dakota 
through the late afternoon and early evening. A number of storms 
developed into supercell thunderstorms with strong rotating updrafts 
and were able to large hail and at least these two weak tornadoes. 
All storms through this period tracked to the north-northeast. Note
that both tornadoes crossed through areas with similar scale 
downburst wind damage from the previous evening. Local residents 
assisted in identifying event damages in which trajectories were 
in a general NNE direction compared to the NE or ENE trajectories 
from the previous evening.

SURVEY SUMMARY: This tornado tracked intermittently to the north-
northeast for over 7 miles. It blew out the back wall of a pole 
shed and tore sheathing off the building. It also snapped or uprooted 
several cottonwood and pine trees in shelterbelts along its path.

SURVEY SUMMARY: This tornado tracked intermittently to the north-
northeast for about 3 miles. It snapped a number of poplar or 
cottonwood trees in the few shelter belts along its path.
