Rating: EF-1 Estimated Peak Wind: 95-110 mph Path Length /statute/: 5.2 miles Path Width /maximum/: 300 yards Fatalities: None Injuries: None Start Date: April 12 2020 Start Time: 405 AM CDT Start Location: 1.3 Miles NNW of Melvin / McCulloch County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 31.2145 / -99.5846 End Date: April 12 2020 End Time: 413 AM CDT End Location: 5.9 Miles NE of Melvin / McCulloch County / TX End Lat/Lon: 31.2560 / -99.5128 An EF-1 Tornado touched down near Highway 87 about a mile north of Melvin and continued northeast. It mostly uprooted large Oak Trees or snapped their trunks. It killed one calf and destroyed several deer feeders. Rating: EF-1 Estimated Peak Wind: 110 mph Path Length /statute/: 5.7 miles Path Width /maximum/: 250 yards Fatalities: None Injuries: None Start Date: April 12 2020 Start Time: 103 AM CDT Start Location: 15.8 Miles SW Ozona / Crockett County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 30.5048 / -101.3172 End Date: April 12 2020 End Time: 116 AM CDT End Location: 11.1 Miles SSW Ozona / Crockett County / TX End Lat/Lon: 30.5505 / -101.2391 An EF-1 Tornado snapped large tree trunks and uprooted numerous trees across ranch country located south of Ozona. The tornado broke a cross member of a large utility pole and knocked down electrical lines. The tornado destroyed a deer blind and some fencing. The tornado damaged the awning of a mobile home and flipped the outdoor A/C unit. Special thanks to the all of the ranchers and Crockett County Fire Department for their assistance with this survey.
