High-based thunderstorms developed across the west central Panhandles Monday afternoon. As these thunderstorms moved east, they crossed a north-south oriented dryline, with cloud bases lowering considerably. Additionally, with winds out of the east present on the eastern side of the dryline, these storms moved into an environment with low level shear profiles conducive for the development of tornadoes. Furthermore, the presence of the dryline allowed for the potential development of landspouts for any storms that were located directly on or very close to the dryline.
