Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 9.48 miles Path Width /maximum/: 400.0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/04/2020 Start Time: 04:39 AM CST Start Location: 7 ENE Prentiss / Jefferson Davis County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.6406 / -89.7644 End Date: 03/04/2020 End Time: 04:42 AM CST End Location: 3 WSW Collins / Covington County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.6317 / -89.6057 Summary: This tornado touched down in far eastern Jefferson Davis County just south of US 84 along Ponderosa Road where a few large softwood tree limbs were snapped. The tornado then moved northeast into Covington County uprooting and snapping softwood trees along Mosshill Road. It pushed east crossing US Highway 35 where it uprooted hardwood trees. It continued to uproot softwood trees at Kelly Road and Friendship Road, just north of US 84. It caused the removal of a few shingles off of a one-story home along Dan Easterling Road while also uprooting softwood trees. The tornado showed signs of weakening once it progressed eastward to Faler Road and Campbell-Faler Road, as only a few large softwood tree limbs were snapped. Once the tornado reached Collins-Spencer Road, west of Collins, it lifted but not before uprooting a few softwood trees. .Madison/Rankin/Scott Counties Straight Line Winds... Rating: Thunderstorm Wind Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 37.25 miles Path Width /maximum/: 8550.0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 1 Start Date: 03/04/2020 Start Time: 02:16 AM CST Start Location: Flora / Madison County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 32.5435 / -90.3189 End Date: 03/04/2020 End Time: 02:45 AM CST End Location: 5 WSW Lena / Scott County / MS End Lat/Lon: 32.5556 / -89.6808 Summary: A line of severe storms progressed eastward across southern Madison, northern Rankin and northern Scott counties during the early morning hours, causing widespread significant wind damage. Damage began in Flora, where the steeple was blown off of the Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. A Flora woman was injured and hospitalized after eight of her ribs were broken when a tree fell into her home and trapped her in bed. Dozens of homes across Madison, Rankin and Scott counties received damage from trees falling on them as well as wind damage. The wind damage of note consisted of the service area of the Quick Lube and Tire shop in the city of Gluckstadt to have significant structural damage. In addition, numerous snapped and uprooted softwood trees occurred along the Natchez Trace Parkway, specifically between mileposts 114 through 123. Additional snapping and uprooting of softwood and a few hardwood trees occurred north of Mississippi Highway 25 in Rankin County, along Coal Bluff Road. As the line of severe storms moved into northern Scott County, several softwood trees were snapped or uprooted along Mississippi Highway 483.
