Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 88 mph Path Length /statute/: 1.32 miles Path Width /maximum/: 60.0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 02/05/2020 Start Time: 05:18 PM CST Start Location: 6 ENE Tishomingo MS / Colbert County / AL Start Lat/Lon: 34.6617 / -88.1282 End Date: 02/05/2020 End Time: 05:25 PM CST End Location: 7 ENE Tishomingo MS / Colbert County / AL End Lat/Lon: 34.6648 / -88.1055 Summary: Colbert County EMA, in collaboration with NWS Huntsville meteorologists, relayed pictures and detailed information of damage in far western Colbert County. After cross-referencing the EMA reports and pictures to radar data and near-storm environment observations, NWS Huntsville determined the damage was consistent with a weak EF-1 tornado, with peak winds of 88 mph. The tornado uprooted a couple trees near Petertown Rd, which runs parallel to the MS/AL border and continued slightly northeastward toward Allsboro Rd. As the tornado crossed Allsboro Rd, it caused more widespread damage along Bishop Ln. Several trees were uprooted while a few softwoods were snapped. Structure damage, in the form of small farm buildings/sheds, was observed further down Bishop Ln. These structures sustained roof damage while one building also had a collapse of its walls. The tornado continued eastward and uprooted two more trees before lifting about three quarters of a mile east of Allsboro Rd.
