568 NOUS44 KTSA 292341 PNSTSA OKZ060-301145- Public Information Statement National Weather Service Tulsa OK 541 PM CST Sun Dec 29 2019 ...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 12/28/2019 TORNADO EVENT... .OVERVIEW...Broken lines of thunderstorms developed and moved through eastern Oklahoma during the afternoon and early evening of December 28th. Although instability was weak, very strong low level wind shear was more than enough to support the development of low level rotation in a couple of the stronger convective lines. One such line produced a weak tornado in Broken Arrow. The damage from this tornado was assessed today by NWS Tulsa meteorologists, and the results of the survey follow. .Broken Arrow Oklahoma Tornado... Rating: EF-0 Estimated Peak Wind: 80 to 85 mph Path Length /Statute/: 1.2 miles Path Width /Maximum/: 160 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: December 28 2019 Start Time: 330 pm CST Start Location: 3.1 SSE Broken Arrow / Tulsa County / OK Start Lat/Lon: 36.0121 / -95.7647 End Date: December 28 2019 End Time: 332 pm CST End Location: 3.1 SE Broken Arrow / Wagoner County / OK End Lat/Lon: 36.0225 / -95.7466 Survey Summary: This tornado developed over an open area west of County Line Road and south of E 101st St S. It crossed County Line Road, where it uplifted a portion of the roof on the east side of a house, and damaged the roof of another house. Large tree limbs were snapped in this area, and power poles were leaning. The tornado continued moving through the neighborhood, where more large tree limbs were snapped. It crossed E 101st St S, snapping large tree limbs on the south side of the Jack Graves Scout Reservation, and then moved across the north side of the NSU Broken Arrow campus before dissipating over open country northeast of the campus.
