Just West of Highway 1628 and 1820 intersection End date: March 14 2019 End time: 934 am CDT End location: 4 miles W of downtown Paducah Kentucky Just East of Coleman Road SURVEY SUMMARY: The tornado quickly intensified and widened, reaching 300 yards wide on Blandville Road, west of Lovelaceville. The tornado further intensified, reaching its maximum intensity of EF2, intermittently from north of Lovelaceville on Hamburg Road to just southeast of the Barkley Regional Airport on Highway 1565 (Mayfield-Metropolis Road). At least a dozen homes sustained major structural damage, including at least partial loss of roofs, or walls blown outward and windows blown out. Four cows were killed near Lovelaceville on Hamburg Road. Dozens of barns, outbuildings, garages, or grain bins were destroyed. Dozens of homes sustained minor damage, including the loss of shingles and metal fascia. A church and at least one business sustained major damage. Mt. Zion Baptist Church had much of the roof structure of the sanctuary blown off, as well as part of a second story exterior wall. One business sustained major damage with the backside of the building blown inward. Several other businesses had minor damage. The Kentucky Oaks Mall sustained damage to its roof and metal fascia and an adjacent strip mall received similar damage, as well windows blown out. Dozens of power poles were blown down causing extensive power outages along much of the tornado track. Hundreds of trees were uprooted, snapped, or sustained broken branches. The only reported injury occurred when a grain bin was blown on top of a pickup truck traveling eastbound on Highway 62. The tornado's maximum intensity occurred along Blandville Road and Fisher Road, where at least ten vehicles sustained damage. Several other vehicles had windows blown out at the Kentucky Oaks Mall area. EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale Classifies Tornadoes into the following categories.
