...NWS Damage Survey for the April 2, 2025, Tornado Event - 
Update #6...

.Update...A National Weather Service damage survey found one 
tornado impacted Johnson County, and one tornado impacted
Williamson County, both in southern Illinois, on the evening of 
Wednesday, April 2, 2025. As of 4 PM CDT on Saturday, April 5, 
2025, a total of nine tornadoes have been confirmed to impact the
NWS Paducah County Warning Area from this severe weather event.
Additional damage surveys are planned in the coming days. 

.North of Buncombe, IL...

Survey Summary:
An EF-2 tornado began just north of Buncombe, IL. Traveling
northeast, the tornado caused severe and extensive damage to
hundreds of pine trees along its path. One home suffered the loss
of its roof, and a few outbuildings were destroyed. The tornado
traveled through the Cedar Rock cabin area where it did severe
tree damage as well as causing minor damage to the cabins. The
tornado ending shortly after crossing Interstate 24 just south of
Deer Ridge Road.

Survey Summary:
A brief EF-1 tornado began just east of Creal Springs, IL, along
Highway 166 moving east-northeast. Damage was mainly uprooted and
snapped trees and downed limbs. However, one home suffered roof
damage, and a carport was also destroyed. The tornado lifted at
Spring Hill Road just south of the Palzo community.
