* At 737 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 4 miles east of Melcher-Dallas to Melrose to Promise
City, moving east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 730pm a personal weather station 4
miles southwest of Russell reported a wind gust of 62 mph.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Ottumwa, Oskaloosa, Knoxville, Centerville, Albia, Bloomfield,
Melcher-Dallas, Eddyville, Ottumwa Industrial Airport, Lake
Sundown, Rathbun Lake, Fremont, Seymour, Moravia, Agency, Lovilia,
Beacon, University Park, Mystic, and Bussey.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread
significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately
likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of
a building. These storms may cause serious injury and significant
property damage.
