A straight line wind event occurred on the northwest side of 
Hammond between Baptist Road and Rogers Road Tuesday evening at
approximately 535 PM.  Wind damage was most significant in the
area of Crapanzano and Cannino Roads between Wardline and Highway
190.  Several trees were snapped and fences blown down in this
area.  The trees were laying in a uniform direction indicating
that winds were from the west-northwest in the area.  The most
significant stuctural damage occurred at a glass repair shop 
where the overhead garage doors were blown out. Damage indicates
maximum straight line wind speed of 85 mph.
