...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY OF 03/29/20 THUNDERSTORM EVENT...

The National Weather Service has completed a damage survey of two
distinct locations in Rhea County Tennessee from the early morning 
March 29, 2020 thunderstorm event.

The survey found damage consistent with strong straight line
winds around Spring City. Wind speeds were estimated in the 60-70
MPH range resulting in downed trees, some of which had fallen on
small structures. No injuries or fatalities.

The survey found damage consistent with a strong microburst near
Ewing Road in northeast Rhea County. Wind speeds were estimated in
the 80-90 MPH range resulting in a large area of divergent fallen
trees, some of which had fallen on small structures. No injuries 
or fatalities.
