Survey Summary:
A short-lived tornado developed 2 miles north of Kent City, along
19 Mile Road a quarter mile east of Peach Ridge Ave. It moved
north-northeast mainly through wooded areas for 2 minutes over a
distance of 1.6 miles. Two houses along the path had EF-0 level
roof damage. The damage path was initially 250 yards wide with
scattered tree damage. It contracted to 125 yards wide where an
open field abutted a wooded area with a dense mixture of hardwood
trees. This was where the tornado briefly intensified and
produced EF-1 level damage, with a high percentage of trees
uprooted and several healthy trunks snapped or stubbed. Uprooted
trees fell toward north-northwest and northeast in a convergent
pattern. The tornado ended along Tyrone Ave a quarter mile north
of 20 Mile Road. This damage survey was completed with the
welcoming assistance of the affected property owners.
