Peak Wind Estimate: 70-80 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.95 miles Width /maximum/: 1600 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: May_10_2022 Start Time: 5:35_PM_CDT Start Location: Fort Stockton, TX_Pecos County Start Lat/Lon: 30.8802/-102.8929 End Date: May_10_2022 End Time: 5:45_PM_CDT End Location: Fort Stockton, TX_Pecos County End Lat/Lon: 30.8937/-102.8897 Significant wind damage was discovered on the south side of Fort Stockton, Texas mainly south of Dickinson Blvd on the evening of May 10th, 2022. The damage swath included multiple uprooted trees, leaning power poles, and peeled or separated roofs at several homes, apartment buildings, and businesses. Most of this damage was oriented in a south to north direction. After re-analysis of radar data and evaluation of photos that were taken by Pecos County emergency management after the storm, the damage was determined to be the result of a downburst from a severe thunderstorm that occurred between 5:35-5:45 PM CDT. The survey team estimated peak wind speeds to be between 70 and 80 mph. $$
