Subject: 	Changes in Flood Categories for the Tide Gage at Fort
			Pulaski, GA on the Savannah River (FPKG1)

Effective at 1200 Coordinated Universal Time (8 am EDT) on May 
1st, the National Weather Service will change the flood category 
stages for the tide gage at Fort Pulaski, GA on the Savannah 
River. 

The new flood categories will be as follows:

	1. 	The new minor flood stage will be 9.5 feet above Mean Lower 
 		Low Water (MLLW). The current flood stage is 9.2 feet above 
		MLLW.

 	2. 	The new moderate flood stage will be 10.0 feet above MLLW. 
		The current moderate flood stage is 9.6 feet above MLLW.

	3. 	The new major flood stage will be 10.5 feet above MLLW. The 
		current major flood stage is 10.0 feet above MLLW. 

Due to these changes, Coastal Flood Advisories will be issued when
the tide is expected to reach or exceed 9.5 feet above MLLW. 
Also, Coastal Flood Watches and Coastal Flood Warnings will be 
issued when the tide level is expected to reach or exceed 10.5 
feet above MLLW.
