...Abilene NOAA Weather Radio Currently Sending Out a Weaker
Signal....

The Abilene All Hazards NOAA Weather Radio is operating in a
degraded mode until further notice. Our technicians are working to
find a solution to repair the antenna. For now, a temporary antenna
has been installed on the broadcast tower. It's possible, you may or
may not be able to receive the broadcast or a warning from this
radio due to the weaker transmission. Be sure to check your weather
radio to see if it can receive the weekly test issued every
Wednesday between 11 AM and Noon.

If a tornado or flash flood warning is issued for your area, and you
have a cell phone capable of receiving Wireless Emergency Alerts
(WEA) you should be able to receive a tornado or flash flood warning
through the WEA system. Be sure you have opted in to receive these
emergency notifications.

For severe weather watches and severe thunderstorm warnings, you can
use one of many smartphone applications that can alert you, or you
can sign up for Code Red or another alerting system if your county
provides that information.

Please be sure to also tune in to your local television, radio, and
social media news sources for the latest NWS Watches and Warnings.

If you have any questions, you can contact your local emergency
manager or your National Weather Service office in San Angelo.

We will continue to serve your community during this severe weather
season, and we hope to have the antenna repairs done as quickly as
we possibly can.
