With support and assistance from Highland County Emergency Management, the National Weather Service confirms that straight line / non-tornadic winds were responsible for the widespread tree and minor structure damage seen to the northwest of Hillsboro, and in other portions of the county on April 8th, 2020. Widespread winds of 70-80 mph were seen across much of the county, leading to numerous trees being uprooted or broken off, as well as minor damage to some homes and outbuildings. $$
