Bulk Download Help
This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
658 FXUS64 KFWD 062320 AFDFWD Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Fort Worth TX 620 PM CDT Tue Oct 6 2026 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... - Quiet weather is expected through the upcoming weekend, with cool nights and warm afternoons. && .SHORT TERM... (This afternoon through Wednesday) Issued at 1233 PM CDT Tue Oct 6 2026 Pleasant, early-fall weather will continue through Wednesday as dry air and light east-northeast winds remain settled over North and Central Texas. Expect afternoon highs in the low to mid 80s beneath sunny skies across most of the region both today and Wednesday, inching toward 90 degrees west of Hwy 281 where southerly winds will re-establish on the western periphery of a surface ridge. Clear skies, light winds, and dry air will allow for temperatures to fall into the mid 50s to low 60s once again by early Wednesday morning across North and Central Texas (near- normal for this time of year). && .LONG TERM... (Wednesday night through next Monday) Issued at 1233 PM CDT Tue Oct 6 2026 Surface ridging will remain extended from the the Midwest toward North Texas, keeping light east-northeast surface winds over our forecast area through at least the end of the work week. This will allow for those pleasant, sunny afternoons with highs in the low to mid 80s to continue into at least Friday. A more easterly component to the surface wind field will draw slightly greater moisture into North and Central Texas late Friday into the weekend, mostly noticed by warmer overnight lows in the mid 60s. We will be monitoring the phasing of an upper-level low with a tropical disturbance over the Gulf this weekend which could bring higher PWATs and low rain chances to parts of East Texas late Saturday into early next week. The bulk of this rainfall will remain well east of our forecast area near the Mississippi River Valley. In fact, this circulation could keep east-northeasterly surface winds over our forecast area into the first half of the weekend allowing for another mild, pleasant day on Saturday with highs in the low to mid 80s. More appreciable moisture return will likely hold off until early next week with any real rain chances holding off until at least midweek next week as broad troughing develops over the western CONUS. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 615 PM CDT Tue Oct 6 2026 There are no aviation concerns through the period, and VFR/SKC will prevail. Winds will be light/variable or calm overnight into tomorrow morning before taking on more uniform northeasterly direction at 5-7 kt tomorrow afternoon. && .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not expected at this time. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS... Dallas-Ft.
