Bulk Download Help
This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.

.KEY MESSAGES...
* Above-normal temperatures expected mid-to-late week.
* Breezy south-southwesterly wind gusts expected across the region
Friday through the weekend.
&&
.DISCUSSION...Today through Monday.
High pressure over the southern US will gradually expand and
strengthen over the Desert Southwest mid to late week. This will
result in rapidly warming temperatures Wednesday and Thursday with
temperatures climbing to around 8 to 10 degrees above normal. As a
result, an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for Thursday for
Death Valley, the Las Vegas Valley, Pahrump Valley, Moapa Valley,
Colorado River Valley, southern Mohave County, and southeastern San
Bernardino County. Temperatures will begin to trend downward
starting Friday as a trough pushes into the western US. This will
allow temperatures to drop about 5 degrees Friday along with an
additional drop around 2 to 4 degrees Saturday with temperatures
close to normal by early next week. Generally dry conditions are
expected, but some weak monsoonal moisture will be pulled northward
Wednesday and Thursday allowing for at least a slight chance of
thunderstorms in the Sierra and terrain of the southern Great Basin
due to strong daytime heating and weak instability.
The aforementioned trough pushing into the western US will bring
cooler temperatures but also bring increasing southwest winds to the
region. The strongest winds look to occur Saturday afternoon where
widespread gusts 25-35 MPH are expected, with over a 50% chance of
gusts over 40 MPH in the western Mojave Desert. There could also be
some gusty southerly winds impacting Lake Mohave and Lake Havasu
this weekend, which could impact boaters with winds and waves.
