Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ
404 AM MST Wed Dec 10 2025

.SYNOPSIS...Dry conditions with continued warm temperatures are
expected into next week.

&&

.DISCUSSION...Strong ridging across the eastern Pacific will
continue to keep warm and dry conditions with generally light winds
across the desert southwest. The ridge starts to weaken a bit over
the weekend with a dry trough finding its way through the region.

Overall, expect daytime highs to be around 10-20 degrees above
normal through at least Saturday, before we see slight cooling take
place due to the trough passing through the area. Nighttime lows
will be cold as dry air, light winds, and clear skies, lead to good
radiational cooling. Lows will gradually moderate and warm ever so
slightly through the end of the week before cooling off again into
early next week.

While daytimes winds will be light and variable around 5-15 mph each
day, we will see elevated winds in areas along and south of the
Mogollon Rim at night.

The trough moves trough over the weekend and into early next week
but is, unfortunately, dry and other than some increasing cloud
cover and slightly cooler temperatures, it will be uneventful. Once
the trough move through, the ridge strengthens again over the eastern
Pacific and a continuation of the dry and warm weather is expected
through the rest of the week.
