Bulk Download Help
This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
848 FXUS64 KBMX 210610 AFDBMX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Birmingham AL 110 AM CDT Tue Oct 21 2025 ...New DISCUSSION, AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 110 AM CDT TUE OCT 21 2025 - Chilly mornings are expected daily through Friday with temperatures in the 40s. A few of the typically cooler locations may reach the upper 30s. - Low humidity values are forecast during the afternoon hours for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Light winds should preclude a more compelling risk for fire weather conditions. - A line of showers will accompany a front today. Another system should bring a greater coverage of showers and a few thunderstorms for the second-half of the weekend. && .DISCUSSION... (Today through next Monday) Issued at 110 AM CDT TUE OCT 21 2025 Satellite and surface observations at 1 am Tuesday show a front nearing our area from the Mississippi Valley region. While nearly void of precipitation at this hour, development is projected to become more noticeable as the front begins to encounter a corridor of moisture advection off the Gulf, generally around or just after sunrise. A relatively thin line of showers will make its way across most of central Alabama through the course of the day. The best potential for light rain accumulations will be north of the 85 corridor, with activity either having dissipated or in an increasingly skimpy state south of the 85 as mid-level support exits. High pressure will be present mid to late week with chilly mornings and mild/warm afternoons. The next rain maker looks to affect our area Saturday night and Sunday. And, guidance suggests another system may be on its heels early to mid next week. 89^GSatterwhite && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 110 AM CDT TUE OCT 21 2025 VFR conditions are expected through most of the TAF period. The one aside will involve a line of showers that will move across central Alabama during the day. Best estimates regarding timing are detailed in the TEMPO group. 89^GSatterwhite && .FIRE WEATHER... MinRHs will be above critical thresholds today thanks to an approaching front. The front will bring a line of light showers across most of central Alabama, but accumulations will be insignificant for the most part. Post-frontal flow will bring a surge of drier air for mid to late week. MinRHs are forecast to be in the upper 20s to lower 30s across north-central Alabama and lower to middle 20s for south- central Alabama on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. There is at least a low probability of upper 10s in a corridor from Montgomery to Selma to Livingston on Wednesday and Thursday. Winds will be 5-10 mph from the northwest on Wednesday and near 5 mph for Thursday and Friday from the northwest then east, respectively. 89^GSatterwhite && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
