Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
122 PM EDT Sun Oct 12 2025

.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will provide dry conditions through the upcoming
workweek. Slightly above normal temperatures early in the week will
trend a bit cooler for the second half of the week before trending
warmer again by this weekend. However, rain and storm chances will
return, along with some breezy conditions, this upcoming weekend as
well.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
Elongated midlevel ridging will extend from the Great Lakes SW into
the ArkLaTex region, providing dry and seasonably mild conditions
for the local area for both the near and short term periods.

After a daytime featuring abundant sunshine today, some clouds will
gradually overspread from the E this evening into early Monday. This
will occur coincident with erly moisture advection toward/past
sunset, with greatest cloud cover expected across the ern half or so
of the ILN FA by sunrise. Farther to the W, the increase in BL
moisture this evening through tonight with only a FEW clouds could
promote the development of some patchy fog, especially in area river
valleys. The overland patchy fog potential will be highest near/S of
the OH Rvr and near/W of the I-75 corridor. This being said, there
is still some uncertainty in just how widespread the encroaching
erly cloud cover will be with westward extent, which would impact
fog development in these areas.

Lows tonight will dip to around 50 degrees, with some upper 40s
likely in rural/sheltered locations.

&&

.SHORT TERM /MONDAY THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT/...
Monday will be very similar to today, with highs topping out in the
lower to mid 70s amidst mostly sunny skies. Any patchy/river valley fog
will dissipate by mid-morning, with cloud cover gradually scattering
a bit into the afternoon, with a SCT Cu deck expected again by
midday. Temps Monday night will bottom out in the mid 40s in the E
from central OH through NE KY to around 50 degrees near/W of I-75
with mostly clear skies.

&&

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Quiet weather will be in place for much of the week with dry
conditions expected Tuesday through Friday night. Some patchy frost
will be possible primarily in central Ohio both Wednesday night and
Thursday night.

Heading into the weekend on Saturday a strong system will begin to
approach the region. There is a good amount of model agreement for
this system being a week out. There are more timing differences
than yesterday with this system, however still looks breezy on
Saturday with gustier winds on Sunday. It will be the main chance
for rain this week as well. Will have to continue to monitor this
system to resolve details on both strength and timing.

&&

.AVIATION /18Z SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
FEW/SCT VFR Cu are expected through the daytime, with additional
moisture moving in from the E by this evening, keeping the potential
for some SCT/BKN VFR clouds lingering through daybreak Monday for
ern sites of KCMH/KLCK. Farther to the W for KCVG/KDAY/KLUK/KILN,
skies should trend mostly clear this evening, although some increase
in clouds is possible late toward/past 12z. With mainly clear skies
and light winds, some river valley BR/FG is likely at KLUK and
potentially even KCVG and KILN, too. IFR or lower VSBYs will be
possible at KLUK in the several hours around daybreak.

Otherwise, VFR conditions will prevail with light NE flow of 6-8kts
or less through the period. FEW/SCT VFR Cu will prevail by the end of
the period.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.
